I am a business edge accountant who works for an accountancy firm. I have worked as an accountant for 8 years and have a business edge certificate as well.
It is my belief that any business is a business, even if it doesn’t make a profit.
The thought of working from home with an accountant who is always on the same page is not something that I have ever been a fan of. There is something so satisfying about an accountant who knows exactly what he’s doing and the exact number of books to be counted. In the business world, that number often translates to a bonus. It would be nice if the accountant was always on the same page.
Well, in business it would be nice to be on the same page with your accountant. In fact, I’m going to go ahead and say that this is a personal preference, and therefore not a business requirement, that is.
I personally like it when my accountant doesn’t write a check and instead hands me a piece of paper with a check attached. In many business offices, I see plenty of check-writing staffs, so I have to give it a try. My other favorite accountants are the ones that say, “If you don’t pay me, you’re out of business.
As an accountant, I try to keep my clients happy with as much information as possible, as far as not paying them a dime. I know that the more people that read my tax return, the better my chances of getting more money. I believe that the way to get money is to do the right thing, but sometimes the right thing is to not do the right thing. In our office, our accounting department is dedicated to helping our customers stay on top of their money.
I think most of us have a hard time keeping our clients happy. It’s not because we want them to stay unhappy, but because sometimes we just don’t know how to do it. We have a very specific budget, and if it gets more out of control, we’re out of business. Here at our company, we have no budget and no budgeting. We try to keep things as simple as possible, but sometimes it gets out of control.
If you’re an accountant, you can be a pretty good guy or girl, but you can’t do it on your own. You need the help of a business partner to help you to do the things you do best. I recently had a conversation with a customer that was somewhat unusual. He was working on a new project, but he was having a hard time getting the project to work. He told me he needed a business partner that could help with his budget.
This customer had a great idea, but no experience in the field, so my suggestion to him was to find a good accountant. They will likely be cheaper so they will also be more trustworthy to you than someone who is an accountant by choice. If you like what you see and hear, then go ahead and get something going. They will likely be able to help you get things going.
You can always work with a local business that is a little more established than the one we use as a reference. That said, I would never recommend working with someone who’s just starting out or has never had the job before. If you’re going to be doing the work yourself, make sure you’re comfortable with the risks involved, and are prepared to take a lot of those risks on your own.
