That’s what happened when I was out in New York City on a business trip. It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for a stroll in the park or a trip to a nearby museum. I was sitting outside in my hotel lobby talking to a couple and a friend sitting at a desk across from them.

I was having a great conversation with a friend, when the front door opened and a person entered.

The stranger was a woman who had come all the way from the mainland. She was wearing a long, black, sleeveless dress that was almost sheer on her shoulders.

I have no idea where she comes from or why she was out in New York City, but I have no doubt she was very beautiful and stylish. I am guessing she didn’t want to be recognized.

When we first met, she was wearing a black leather jacket and black leather pants, both of which she had to put on whenever she entered a room. The jacket and pants were dark with a long, black stripe running down the center. She always kept her hair in a bun. When she spoke, she spoke slowly and deliberately, like she was a very serious person. She always kept her glasses on. She spoke with a British accent.

In Deathloop, there are plenty of party-goers who are dressed differently, but the only one who changes her appearance is Colt, who doesn’t care for the way she looks. Instead, she just wears the same clothes all the time.

A long black dress and a necklace are the only two things you can see in Deathloop. All the other party-goers wear black and wear it all the time.

You know people, they get dressed the same way all the time. That’s called “self-awareness.” But it is one of the rare cases where people who have self-awareness also have the same clothes all the time.

Now that we know that Colt has no memories, we can use his self-awareness to predict his actions. Like a time-looper, he’s going to keep doing the same thing all the time, so he will always be back at the party in black and wearing the black dress. He might even decide to wear the black dress again to the end of the game.

Weirdly, the self-awareness part of Colt’s self-awareness is probably the most important part of the game. Now that he has no idea how to solve his problems, he can’t just go to the party without a plan and hope that someone will just walk by and pick him up. We’ll just have to play the game and figure it out all on our own.
